24/05/2019

The group of Castiglion Fiorentino continues to grow and consolidates as a national leader in the sector The last acquisition concerns the Piedmontese Acerbi, specialized in LPG transport tanks CASTIGLION FIORENTINO (AR) - The Menci Group continues to grow and further diversify its business, investing in the transport of LPG. The group of Castiglion Fiorentino has acquired the Acerbi Industrial Vehicle which, established in 1962 and based in Castelnuovo Scrivia (Al), is a historic Italian brand in the LPG tanks and has an annual production of about 150 vehicles. The operation was born out of Menci's desire to strengthen its leadership at national level in the tank sector and to further strengthen the group's internationalization towards new markets. The objective will therefore be to give new impetus to the activity of the Acerbi brand which, relying on approximately 70 employees, currently records 80% of foreign sales concentrated mainly in the markets of North Africa and the Middle East. For the relaunch of the brand and product Acerbi, the Menci Group will be able to count on the skills and experience gained by its management and already demonstrated by the results achieved with the first brilliant acquisition of Zorzi Treviso in 2013. With this new operation, the group exceeds the threshold of 350 employees and the 2,700 vehicles produced, two numbers that are constantly increasing and consolidating it as the most important Italian group in the sector. The acquisition will allow the Menci Group to present itself as a solid reference point for all types of road transport with the three brands Menci, Zorzi and Acerbi. The operation will also be accompanied by a plan of investments in research and development to renew Acerbi's production and to find the latest technological solutions in terms of reliability, safety and design. “Diversification is one of the bases of our group's growth - explains Andrea Menci, sales, export and communication manager. - The Menci Group has long been the national leader in the production of semi-trailers and tanks, and with the acquisition of Acerbi it also enters the LPG transport vehicle business by strengthening a group that brings together some of the major Italian brands”.
